Mystical Trance States in the English Countryside… 5,500 Years of West Kennet Long Barrow

I’ve long had a fascination with Avebury Stone Circle… Not far from the arguably more famous Stone Henge, Avebury is a magical place. It is the largest neolithic stone circle in the world. I’m back in the UK and visiting it… but enroute is West Kennet Long Barrow.

West Kennet Long Barrow is part of the Avebury complex and over 5000 years old. This long barrow is 100 meters in length, second only in size to East Kennet Long Barrow (East Kennet Long Barrow is completely unexcavated and on private land with no access… something for future generations to discover). 

Unlike most long barrows in the UK, West Kennet Long Barrow is open and tall enough to walk upright into. Inside are amazing examples of Neolithic chambers. Just like the pyramids in Giza, I simply do not believe these structures were originally burial mounds. For sure, bodies were found in the barrows, but this is a re-purposing at least 1000 years later (unlike the pyramids where no bodies were found within).

Archeoacoustic Studies of Ancient Sites

The 110 Hz frequency has a profound effect on neurological functioning… Archeoacoustic studies (EEG monitoring) of people inside these ancient stone structures being bathed in these resonant frequencies, show shifts in brain activity. The left prefrontal cortex activity drops off sharply (turning down the analytical, language-driven and ‘ego’ centers of the brain). Simultaneously the right prefrontal cortex (pattern recognition, spatial awareness and non-ordinary states of consciousness) increase. Physically entraining the brain, inducing deep, hypnotic trance states…

Just like the Ħal Saflieni Hypogeum, Chavín de Huántar and countless other so called Stone Age creations they were constructed in specific places relative to magnetic fluctuations, earth currents and water… These amazing structures were also built and oriented so that the sunrise on the Equinox or Solstice aligned perfectly, meaning as the the sun rises it shines into the opening of the building. This alone is evidence enough that they were used in initiation rites involving prolonged periods of darkness. The initiate would have been brought out into the light (maybe a blindfold removed) so that the first rays of the sun’s light created a flood of serotonin by transforming the build up of melatonin in the brain from the extended darkness. This same process is seen around the world, even in the Giza plateau.

But something I find interesting is the fact that the Long Barrow construction is of layered organic and inorganic materials, stone and earth/grass… This is the same organic, inorganic layers as the Orgone Accumulator of Wilhelm Riche. 

Orgone, Prana, Qi, Chi, Ki, Ka, Pneuma, Orenda, Archaeus, Animal Magnetism, Élan Vital, Odic Force, The Thinking Stuff, Biofield, Morphogenetic Field… There are many names for these energies, to me that suggests there must be something to it. The electromagnetic energy from the heart is measurable… in some (open hearted) people it extends upto 6 feet. Then there are chemical messengers (pheromones) that extend forth from our being, again these are measurable… Neither of these used to be scientifically measurable (and now are). It is therefore possible that there are other energies that have not yet been measured by science. 

Construction of West Kennet Long Barrow

Interesting that the layers of material are similar to the orgone accumulator… Is it possible that these structures were also designed to collect (healing) energy..?

The chambers inside seem to be designed for a purpose other than the last resting place of Chief Big Hammer. 

The huge sarsen stones used at West Kennet Long Barrow are rich in silica and quartz crystals… Quartz possesses a distinct property known as piezoelectricity. When subjected to physical pressure or acoustic pressure… the crystal lattices generate an electric charge.

The ancient builders placed these high-quartz megaliths on natural geomagnetic fault lines and telluric (earth) current paths. The layered organic and inorganic construction acted as a giant, naturally powered transducer… Pressure against the quartz within the sarsen stones turned the acoustic (mechanical) energy into subtle electromagnetic currents. The site was built to act as an accumulator or battery, drawing energy up from the earth and down from the atmosphere.

Om in West Kennet Long Barrow

Vocal Toning one afternoon inside the hand cut rock caves of Elephanta Island just off the coast of Mumbai, India gave me a deeper understanding of the power of these types of spaces… Using sound for the purpose of entering deep relaxed states of being… and experiences of pure relaxation.

West Kennet Long Barrow in Wiltshire, England was created for a reason… Traditional archeologists say “We found bodies in there so it’s simply a burial chamber”… However, I believe the alignment and construction of the barrow suggests something deeper. Spiritual awakenings engineered in the English countryside and healing experiences created by the accumulation of energy and the resonance… Om was the sound I made in the Elephanta caves, I tried Om (in three parts: Ah, Ooo, Mmmm) in the chambers of West Kennet and surprised a small bird nesting there… the small bird surprised me too. 

Altered States in these Ancient Civilizations were, I believe, used for both healing and awakening. The alignment, construction and standing wave of 110hz inside the chambers all point to this…

Seeing these similar acoustic and solar structures repeated across continents shows that ancient cultures possessed a sophisticated (and standardized) understanding of how environment, sound, geometry and more could be used to shape and transform human consciousness.

Our ancestors knew more about their environment and how to shape it than oftentimes we give them credit for. Maybe we can all learn something from them..?
