This Binaural Beats Generator allows you to choose the frequency (Hz) of your Binaural Beats from 0.5Hz (once every 2 seconds) for Deeeeep Delta brainwave for sleep… all the way (in increments of 0.5) up to 40Hz (40 times per second) for ultra focused creative Gamma Brainwaves.

All controlled by simple sliders with labels telling you what brainwave frequency you’ve picked. 

You can also choose the bass frequency… This is how high or low the pitch of the tones are. Really low (bassy) tones work well for certain brainwaves. Although it’s really a personal thing, do you prefer the higher pitch or the lower… and also depending on the frequency response of your speakers.

What Are Binaural Beats

Binaural Beats are a fascinating auditory phenomenon… They are not physical sounds that exist externally but rather unique ‘auditory illusions‘ that the brain creates. Neurologically speaking, Binaural Beats originate in the ‘Superior Olivary Complex’ located in the lower part of the brainstem. It’s function is processing interaural time differences… the relationship between the two ears.

For example, if a 200 Hz tone is played into the right ear and a 220 Hz tone to the left, the brain will perceive a 20 Hz (Beta Binaural Beat)… a ‘third tone’ that oscillates at the precise difference between the two frequencies. The brain actively constructs auditory reality from the sensory inputs (with a difference above 40Hz the brain starts to simply hear two tones).

Binaural Beats BWE (Brainwave Entrainment) do require the use of headphones… BUT Binaural Beats are in many ways a digital version of a much older form of BWE. When Binaural Beats are played through a single speaker the wave collapses and creates a Monaural Beat. i.e. the interference pattern that it creates happens externally (in the air) rather than internally (in the brain). The rhythmic patterns of the Tibetan Singing Bowl produces a Monaural Beats naturally. So the BWE in effect changes from binaural to monaural… the brain also entrains to the audible monaural tone.
